  FAQ's

Q.  Where can I drop off my computer?
A.  We are located at 1814 East 40th Street.  8:00AM-3:00PM Monday-Friday.
         The building is located between Chester Ave. and Payne in the Midtown corridor. 
          We are located in the rear of the building.

Q.  Does it cost me anything to drop off?
A.   For residents of Cuyahoga County the drop off service is free.  This is for residential
         drop offs only.   There is a charge for business drop offs and pickups.

Q.  What happens to the data on my computer?
A.  We perform two government wipes destroying all data on the hard drive.  If the hard
         drive is damaged it will be crushed with a hammer and totally taken apart for
         precious metal recovery.

Q.  Can my business drop off?
A.   Yes, we charge a recycling fee.  Please call for details.

Q.  Do you offer a pickup service?
A.  Yes, we charge to pick up.  Please call for details.


Q.  What happens to my computer after I drop it off?
A.    If it is a Pentium II or higher it will be refurbished and placed in Ohio Public Schools
         or a needy non-profit.  If it is a Pentium I or lower it will be totally taken apart and recycled
         to its base parts.  We may use the pieces and parts to rebuild other computers.

.Q.  Can I buy a used computer from RET3?
A.   No, we do not sell computers to the general public.

Q.  What happens to the monitor?
A.   It either gets reused or refurbished into a television.  If it does not get reused or
         refurbished,it will be totally taken apart. The  glass will be broken  and separated, plastic
         shredded and the rest of the unit with be dismantled and recycled.


Q.  Do you take cell phones?
A.   Yes, 50% of the cell phones we collect get reused.  The other 50% get recycled,
         even the batteries.

Q.  Do you take Televisions & VCRs?
A.  Yes, we recycle Televisions & VCRs.  There is a recycling fee to recycle a television.


Q.  How do I request a used computer for my non-profit?
A.  Download our Technology Access Program (TAP)  form from our website.  Fill it out
        and fax it to 216-361-9989.

Q.  How long does it usually take to get a computer for my non-profit or
      school?

A.   It depends on our inventory and how many you are requesting.  Our board reviews
         our requests on the 15th of each month.
